Controversial Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has thrown a fresh challenge to his critics, boldly reaffirming his place as the top talent in the industry even as backlash over his political choices and personal life continues to rage.

The actor, who has faced intense public scrutiny in recent years, made the defiant declaration during an appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast. He attributed much of the hate directed at him to his open support for President Bola Tinubu and his decision to marry a second wife following the breakdown of his first marriage to Mary Edochie.

“Despite all the smear campaign against me, I’m still standing strong. I’m still the best actor in Nollywood. Love me or hate me, you cannot take away my talent.”

The actor insisted that neither the attacks nor the controversies have reduced his relevance or diminished his on-screen prowess.

Yul maintained that the heavy criticism intensified after he introduced his second wife, but he expressed no regrets over his choices.

“They attacked me because I supported Tinubu. They attacked me because I decided to marry another wife. But none of that can stop my shine.”

The father of several children also reminded listeners of his long-standing contributions to the industry:

“I have paid my dues in this industry. People know the truth. They know what I can do as an actor.”

His latest outburst has already divided netizens, with some applauding his self-belief and resilience while others mock the claim, pointing to his reduced movie roles and public perception in recent times.

Yul Edochie, son of veteran actor Pete Edochie, rose to fame with several blockbuster movies in the 2000s and 2010s. However, his personal decisions, including his multiple marriages and strong political alignment, have often overshadowed his professional achievements in public discourse.
