B-Red Escapes Death as Political Thugs Hunt Him Down in Osun

Nigerian singer Adebayo Adeleke, popularly known as B-Red and son of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has recounted a terrifying experience after he narrowly escaped what he described as an assassination attempt in Osogbo, Osun State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, April 29, 2026, around 3:30 PM near the Oke-Fia axis, close to the Osun State Government House. B-Red was out buying items around the Alekuwodo market when the attack unfolded.

According to the singer, some okada riders wearing AMBO caps tried to surround his vehicle at a traffic point under the Okefia Bridge. As his team attempted to move away, a white Toyota Venza approached with someone shouting “It is him, it is him.” The Venza and several motorcycles then pursued his jeep aggressively in an attempt to block it.

The chase intensified and continued until B-Red and his team reached the gate of the Osun State Government House at Oke-Fia. He identified one of the occupants of the pursuing vehicle as Asiri Eniba, described as a notorious political thug.

B-Red recounted the frightening ordeal:

“As I went out to buy some stuff around Alekuwodo market, I just saw some Okada riders with AMBO caps trying to surround my vehicle at a traffic point under Okefia Bridge. As we tried to move out, we saw a white Toyota Venza approaching, and someone shouted, ‘It is him, it is him.’ As we moved, the Toyota Venza pursued us, trying to block my jeep. At the same time, multiple motorcycles also joined in the chase. The chasing continued until we got to the gate of the Osun State Government House, Oke-Fia. We identified one of the occupants of the vehicle to be Asiri Eniba.”

No injuries were reported from the incident. B-Red and his team immediately reported the matter to the police for investigation.

The Osun State Government, through the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Olumo Kolapo Alimi, condemned the attack and demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of the suspects. The government urged security agencies to act swiftly without delay.

The development has sparked tension in Osogbo, with many residents expressing concern over the rising insecurity and political thuggery in the state. As investigations continue, the police have requested further evidence to aid their probe into the alleged assassination attempt.
