“I’m Sorry!” — Blessing CEO Begs, Offers Refunds After Cancer Drama

Controversial relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO has made a dramatic U-turn, issuing a public apology to Nigerians following intense backlash over her health claims and fundraising controversy. The social media personality, who had earlier insisted she owed no one an apology, is now expressing regret over the uproar and offering refunds to dissatisfied donors.

In a statement shared online, Blessing struck a noticeably softer tone, acknowledging the widespread criticism that trailed her situation.

“I want to start by saying I am very sorry to all Nigerians… for the unnecessary drama, embarrassment and controversy.”

Her apology marks a sharp shift from her earlier stance, where she openly rejected calls for accountability, asking critics, “For what? Who did I hurt?”

The apology comes weeks after the influencer faced heavy scrutiny over her breast cancer claims and public donations. Blessing had revealed she received about ₦13 million from supporters, dismissing viral reports that the figure was higher.

Attempting to rebuild trust, Blessing pledged to be more open about her health journey moving forward and also promised to carry the public along, just as she did during her cosmetic surgery journey.

“Going forward I will be very transparent with my medical reports –down to my biopsy– by carrying you all along. Just like I carried you all during my liposuction and BBL Journey.”

Even while apologizing, Blessing maintained that she did not intentionally mislead the public.

“I never lied about my health issues.”

This dual stance of apology combined with self-defense has left many questioning whether the statement will be enough to calm the controversy.

In what appears to be the strongest conciliatory part in the statement, Blessing offered refunds to anyone uncomfortable with their donations.

“Anyone uncomfortable that needs a refund should also reach out to me with their receipt to get their money back.”

The offer follows growing pressure from donors, including public figures who had demanded accountability and, in some cases, threatened legal action over the funds.

Reactions to her apology have been sharply divided. While some supporters have praised her for finally taking responsibility, others remain skeptical, pointing to inconsistencies in her earlier statements. The controversy, which began as a health revelation, has now evolved into a broader debate about trust, transparency, and accountability among public figures.

For now, Blessing CEO appears to be attempting to reset the narrative but whether Nigerians are willing to move on remains to be seen.
