Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has launched a scathing attack on Peter Obi, boldly claiming that any political party the former Anambra governor joins is destined to collapse. The self-proclaimed Asiwaju Boy described Obi’s reported alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as “dead on arrival” and a complete waste of time.
“Any political party Peter Obi joins will scatter. Whatever he’s doing with ADC is dead on arrival. A total waste of time.”
The actor went further, insisting the problem is not physical but runs much deeper.
“It’s not a physical problem. It’s deeper than that. I’m surprised he doesn’t know this already. Or maybe he knows but chooses to ignore it. But the truth remains the truth. Peter Obi cannot be President of Nigeria now.”
The statement lands amid growing speculation that Peter Obi may abandon the ADC ahead of future elections. Yul, a vocal supporter of President Bola Tinubu, has repeatedly positioned himself as a defender of the current administration while dismissing opposition figures, especially from the Southeast.
The post has triggered an immediate backlash online. Critics accused Yul of personal vendetta and reminded him of his own troubled marriage and career setbacks, with some replying that “any marriage you are involved in will scatter” or urging him to focus on his own life. Supporters, however, praised him for speaking what they see as a political truth.
Yul’s latest outburst continues his pattern of unfiltered political commentary. As deputy Southeast coordinator for the Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN) group, he has used his platform to champion Tinubu’s achievements while warning against opposition movements.
