Popular Nigerian skitmaker Layi Wasabi has issued a stern public warning to his future wife after watching comedian Roby Ekpo’s emotional podcast breakdown over his failed 11-year marriage. In a raw video post on his Instagram story, Layi urged men to avoid “wicked women” and choose kind partners, stressing that kindness keeps marriages alive long after the spark of love burns out.
Layi began by advising single men seeking love.
“First of all, guys, avoid wicked women! If you’re a nice guy and you’re looking for love, please, look for it in nice, kind people.”
He explained the role kindness plays when the fire of romance becomes dim.
“The thing about marriage is that when there’s no longer love in a marriage, kindness will keep the two of you together until you find the spark again.”
He then directly referenced Roby Ekpo’s viral podcast tears, where Roby detailed alleged betrayal by his ex-wife Mayowa.

Layi expressed frustration at men criticising Roby for crying out publicly.
“You people stress me! Someone married for 11 years lost his wife to another man abroad and you’re judging him for speaking on a podcast.”
Turning personal, Layi delivered a direct message to his future wife.
“Mrs Wasabi, wherever you might be watching this video, if you do this to me, I will do media tour, rebrand, and even release a book.”
He concluded by explaining how much pain Roby had to have been to be able to set pride aside and speak up.
“Just pray pain that surpasses pride doesn’t find you, because if it does, you will find podcast.”
The post ties straight into the ongoing Roby Ekpo saga that has dominated conversations about trust, long-distance marriages, and hidden betrayals.
