Popular Nigerian DJ Big N has shared a deeply personal and emotional account of his mental health battle in 2025, revealing that behind his active and vocal online presence was a quiet fight for survival. The entertainer opened up during an appearance on the Off Air show with Toolz and Gbemi, where he described the year as one of the toughest periods of his life.

DJ Big N admitted that despite appearing fine on social media, he was not making money and was battling severe financial pressure.

“If I was useless in savings, I’ll have drowned in 2025. I didn’t make money. Even though I was posting and being very vocal, my 2025 was just me making sure I didn’t die.”

The DJ recounted moments when suicidal thoughts became overwhelming. He described standing on his balcony and hearing himself say,

“It’s not far now, see car port, jump.”

In another instance, while in his toilet, he heard himself say,

“You won’t make it to 40.”

These internal voices, he explained, highlighted how heavy and uncertain everything felt in the middle of the crisis.

Toolz responded with empathy, reassuring him that it is okay to take time to recover during difficult moments. DJ Big N agreed but stressed that living through the experience was far different from looking back on it later. He noted how easy it is for people to reflect on lessons learned once they have survived, but when you are in the thick of it, the weight feels almost unbearable.

His honest disclosure has resonated strongly with fans and followers, many of whom have shared messages of relief that he made it through the dark period. The revelation serves as a powerful reminder that even public figures who seem upbeat and engaged online can be fighting silent battles that others cannot see.

The interview has sparked widespread conversations about the need for more awareness around mental health in Nigeria, especially among young professionals and creatives who often feel pressured to maintain a perfect image online. For DJ Big N, sharing the story appears to be part of his healing process and a way to let others know they are not alone.
