A UK-based woman has come forward with serious allegations against popular Nigerian singer and entertainer Segun Johnson, claiming he convinced her to abandon her independent life abroad under false promises of building a future, only to end their long-term relationship shortly after she returned to Nigeria.
The woman described a relationship spanning 13 years marked by ups and downs. She explained that after relocating to the UK and establishing her own life, including securing a new job, Segun reconnected with her during a visit. By then, he had gained significant popularity.
According to her account, Segun urged her to move back to Nigeria, insisting he would provide everything she needed and that they would continue building together. Despite her hesitation and fear of becoming dependent, she eventually agreed.
“I had to leave the new job I got, and I travelled to Lagos without telling my friends.”
Upon arrival, he picked her up at the airport and gave her a new necklace as a gesture.
The couple celebrated his birthday together on February 14 shortly after her arrival. However, things took a turn when Segun travelled to the UK and returned with a money-counting machine. Suspecting something was off, she confronted him after discovering messages indicating he had been involved with another woman in London for about a year, with the machine being a gift from her.
The breakup, she claimed, came suddenly through a voice note where he expressed his desire to move on.
“Later, he said we should meet and talk, but he couldn’t make it, so he sent me a VN saying he wanted to move on with someone else.”
She described his attitude as lacking remorse:
“He said, ‘Now is the time,’ and he wasn’t getting any younger.”
Immediately after, he arranged for all her belongings to be returned via Uber.
Segun Johnson, known for his energetic performances and contributions to the Nigerian music scene, has not publicly responded to these specific allegations as of the latest available information.
