Leo Edochie Slams Viral Death Rumours About Father

Veteran Nollywood legend Pete Edochie is alive, strong, and in good health, according to his son Leo Edochie, who has forcefully dismissed viral rumours claiming the iconic actor had died.

The shocking claim reportedly began when an X (formerly Twitter) user circulated false information alleging that Pete Edochie’s death had been announced on Instagram — a claim that quickly spread and triggered panic among fans.

But Leo Edochie wasted no time setting the record straight.

Taking to Instagram, he described the reports as completely false and condemned those behind the rumour in strong terms.

“I have been receiving calls, text messages, WhatsApp messages, over some nonsense that people posted, that my father, Pete Edochie, is dead. It’s a lie from the pit of hell.”

Reassuring the public, Leo emphasized that the legendary actor is not only alive but thriving.

“Our father is not just alive but hale and healthy.”

He also delivered a stern warning to those spreading or wishing death on others.

“If you’re wishing someone dead, the person will live very long, or you’ll die before him.”

His statement immediately calmed worried fans, many of whom had already begun offering prayers online after seeing the viral claim.

The incident adds to a growing list of Nigerian celebrities who have had to publicly debunk false death rumours. In recent years, veterans like Chiwetalu Agu, Kanayo O. Kanayo, and Osita Iheme have alling been forced to deny similar hoaxes, raising concerns about misinformation and attention-seeking content on social media.
