Nollywood actor and content creator Bamidele Oluwatope, popularly known as Okemesi, has made an emotional appeal for help after revealing that he is currently battling illness and homelessness.
The actor broke down in a video shared online on Thursday, where he spoke about his struggles while speaking with fellow actor Tony Montana, who expressed shock over his condition.
“I’m very sad seeing you in this condition. It is difficult for people, including your fans, to recognise you. What happened to you?” Tony Montana asked.
Responding, Okemesi attributed his ordeal to what he described as a spiritual attack, explaining that his health deteriorated rapidly despite receiving medical attention.
“It was a spiritual attack. May God protect us from spiritual arrows. I was taken to Island Hospital, and people donated to foot my bills,” he said.
According to him, his condition worsened, prompting those around him to contact his family. He was eventually taken to Osogbo to meet his elder brother, who later sought spiritual intervention on his behalf.
“It was a serious attack. I became crippled. I couldn’t talk or stand. It was the prayers from people and God’s miracles that revived me,” Okemesi said, adding that he began to walk with crutches shortly after receiving spiritual care.
However, his troubles did not end there. The actor revealed that his brother also faced challenges shortly after, forcing him to leave his brother’s home.
“My brother was also attacked after I left the cleric’s place. He had an accident and marital crisis. I had to leave his place and started staying on church premises,” he said.
In an emotional plea to his supporters, Okemesi revealed his current reality.
“I don’t have a place to sleep. I don’t have anything. In fact, it’s difficult to feed. My fans, you are the only thing left for me. Please, I need your help to get back on my feet, especially with accommodation,” he pleaded.
The video has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern and calling on colleagues, fans, and well-meaning individuals to come to the actor’s aid.
