Nigerian music star Davido has spoken publicly about how he felt after losing at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
The singer, born David Adeleke, shared his reaction in a post on Instagram shortly after the ceremony. He admitted the loss affected him deeply and made him consider skipping post-event celebrations.
According to him, it was his wife, Chioma Adeleke, who encouraged him to step out despite the disappointment.
“I said baby listen we lost again let’s not go,” Davido wrote. “She said ‘Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat’ we outside. My ride or die. She dey my back, active geng.”
The message quickly gained attention online, with many fans praising Chioma for her support and Davido for being open about the emotional side of awards season.
Chioma also responded in a separate post, reassuring the singer of her belief in him.
“You already know that you’re the perfect one,” she wrote.
Davido was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category at the 68th Grammy Awards but lost to South African singer Tyla.
Despite the setback, fans say the singer’s message shows resilience and highlights the strong support system behind him.
