Nigerian singer Harrysong has finally spoken out following emotional accusations from his ex-wife, Alexer Peres, amid their ongoing custody dispute.
Alexer recently shared a heartbreaking video where she announced she had decided to temporarily give up custody of their two young children, describing it as “the hardest decision of my life.” She cited emotional pressure and struggles following their separation from the singer.
She also accused Harrysong of harassment and interference, claiming he shows up at her home unannounced. Alexer further alleged that the children often stay with domestic staff, suggesting their father is not always present.
Reacting via his Instagram Story, Harrysong said he had chosen to stay quiet for the sake of their children, stressing that public drama can have lasting consequences.
“I’ve chosen restraint to protect the mother of my children and, most importantly, our kids because what’s said online lives forever,” he wrote.
The singer admitted he had previously reacted emotionally in the past but said he has since learned his lesson.
“I previously made the mistake of speaking from emotion and learnt the hard way.”
Harrysong also denied claims that he blocked Alexer from seeing the children.
“I never said she couldn’t have access to them. Them being in my custody is a decision made for reasons u can’t put out on the internet.”
He firmly described himself as a responsible and involved parent.
“I’ve remained active, present father and have continued to provide for our children, even while they were in her care.”
Calling the ongoing narrative damaging, the singer warned that the public back-and-forth could hurt the very children both parents are trying to protect.
“The current narrative online is deeply hurtful and risks damaging the very image and career that supports our children. Is it worth it? I won’t engage in public back-and-forth that could one day harm them. My focus remains their well-being.”
Harrysong and Alexer’s marriage has been marked by very public drama over the past year. In 2024, their separation escalated into a messy online exchange filled with accusations from both sides.
Harrysong had accused Alexer of infidelity, even alleging she cheated while pregnant. He also made controversial remarks about her family. Alexer fired back with her own claims, and the dispute played out heavily on social media.
Despite the history, Harrysong now appears determined to keep the focus on their children and avoid further public confrontation.
