Birthday Party: Nkechi Blessing Regrets Question About Imisi’s Mother

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has publicly apologised to BBNaija star Imisi after asking a sensitive question about her mother during the reality star’s birthday celebration.

Imisi recently marked her birthday with a star-studded party attended by celebrities including Bisola Aiyeola, Do2dtun, Kiekie, Brodashaggi, BBNaija Kola, and others. However, a moment during a question-and-answer session at the event sparked backlash online.

During the exchange, Nkechi asked Imisi if she would ever forgive and reconcile with her mother, a topic many considered deeply personal and inappropriate for a public setting.

The question quickly made rounds on social media, with several users criticising the actress for bringing up a sensitive family issue at a celebratory event.

Facing heavy criticism, Nkechi took to social media to issue a heartfelt apology.

In her words:

“I sincerely want to apologise to anybody who got offended by the question I asked Imisi a couple of hours ago at her party. If you find my question offensive, I am sorry. Find a place in your heart to forgive me. Whoever is dragging me, fighting me, abusing me, please don’t be offended.”

She stressed that she had no intention of chasing clout and expressed regret that her words caused discomfort.

The issue touches on a past controversy involving Imisi and her mother. After Imisi won Big Brother Naija Season 10 in October 2025, her mother publicly accused her of abandonment in an emotional video. Imisi later addressed the claims, stating that she has always taken care of her mother and that family remains her top priority.

Despite the earlier family drama, many fans felt the birthday celebration was not the right time to revisit the topic, which is why Nkechi’s question drew strong reactions.

As of now, Imisi has not publicly responded to the apology, but fans continue to debate the situation online.
