Bimbo Ademoye Celebrates Victory After YouTube Copyright Win

Nigerian actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has shared her joy and relief after winning a tough copyright dispute involving her hit YouTube movie, Where Love Lives.

The film star took to Instagram on Monday to celebrate the victory, thanking her family, colleagues, and loyal online supporters for standing by her while the issue lasted.

In an emotional post, Bimbo made it clear she believes divine grace saw her through the situation.

“God don’t play about me, that’s how I know he’s real.”

She gave special appreciation to her mother and close associates who worked behind the scenes to resolve the matter.

“I want a very big thank you to my mother @uduakisong1 for not resting till the issue was resolved. I love you forever mom. To @ugoccie and her team, thank you for standing by me and helping out. @sir.fela thank you for always helping to make sure things are resolved.”

The actress also praised her fans, whom she fondly calls her “cyber family,” for helping report the alleged infringement online.

“AND MOST IMPORTANTLY! to my Amazing cyber family! You guys reported emmanuel Davies till the song got taken down on all platforms. I’m kicking my feet in the air like a little child. I love you guys so much.”

She ended her message with a lighthearted apology to anyone who noticed her low mood during the ordeal.

“Pls if you encountered me yesterday and I wasn’t smiling, no vex abeg, life and emmanuel Davies tried me.”

The controversy began when an individual identified as Emmanuel Davies allegedly made a false copyright claim over a song used in Where Love Lives. According to Bimbo, she fully owns the rights to the song, with proper approval from the artiste.

The song was reportedly uploaded to streaming platforms, including Spotify, under the other party’s name. This led to a copyright strike on Bimbo’s YouTube upload, causing demonetisation and redirecting earnings away from her project.

The situation was especially painful for the filmmaker, as Where Love Lives had already gathered millions of views since its December 2025 release. The movie stars Uzor Arukwe, Chioma Nwosu, and Osas Ighodaro.

Bimbo previously described the experience as heartbreaking, saying it left her in tears and unable to interact normally with fans.

Now, with the dispute resolved in her favour, the actress is celebrating not just a legal win, but the power of community support.
