GWR: Hilda Baci Breaks Two Records in One Feat

Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has reached another historic milestone after confirming that she is now a three-time Guinness World Record holder.

The food entrepreneur made the announcement on Tuesday after receiving official confirmation that her September 2025 jollof rice feat had also earned her the record for the largest serving of rice overall, in addition to the title for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

Taking to Instagram, Baci updated her bio to read “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder” and shared her excitement with fans.

“Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. What a way to step into 2026,” she wrote.

According to Baci, the confirmation came via an email from Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering – Records Creative Team at Guinness World Records.

In the message, Fanning explained that her jollof rice attempt had automatically broken another record.

“Congratulations, you are Officially Amazing (again)! It has come to our attention when comparing record guidelines of the two record titles, that when you and your team attempted and achieved ‘Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice,’ you also achieved the record title of ‘Largest serving of rice,’” he wrote.

Reacting to the unexpected update, Baci said she was completely caught off guard.

“This morning, I was just doing my usual routine, casually scrolling through my emails, when I saw the message come in. I was shocked and happy at the same time,” she said.

She revealed that the discovery came five months after the original record announcement.

“What I thought was one record… turned out to be two. And now, officially, that makes three Guinness World Records in total,” she added.

Baci’s latest recognition stems from her September 2025 Lagos cookout, where she prepared 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of Nigerian-style jollof rice — officially the largest pot of jollof rice ever prepared.

That feat marked her second Guinness World Record, following her historic 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon in May 2023, which made her Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.

The chef credited her team for the success, singling out @oreoluwa_atinmo as a key collaborator.

“The very first person I called was @oreoluwa_atinmo, because this journey, this vision, and this record would not have been possible without her. We did this together,” she said.

She also expressed gratitude to God for what she described as unexpected blessings.

“Honestly, God is faithful. This feels like such a beautiful reminder that even when you think you’ve seen the full picture, God can still say, ‘There’s more,’” Baci added.

Baci concluded by thanking Guinness World Records, her team, and supporters worldwide, describing the achievement as a shared victory.

“To my incredible team, this is OUR win… And to everyone who supported, believed, and stood with us, my heart is so full,” she said.

The latest milestone further cements Hilda Baci’s status as one of Nigeria’s most decorated chefs, while spotlighting Nigerian cuisine on a global stage.
