Billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, father of Afrobeats star Davido, has finally spoken publicly for the first time on the long-running DNA controversy involving a young girl named Anu.
In a firm statement, the 69-year-old businessman dismissed renewed claims linking Davido to the child, insisting multiple DNA tests conducted since 2014 showed “zero probability” of paternity.
Adeleke also made a strong allegation against controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo, accusing her of impersonating the minor online.
“Kemi Olunloyo is the one impersonating the young child Anu, and I don’t even think it’s legal for Kemi Olunloyo to be impersonating a minor,” Adeleke said.
According to him, the girl’s extended family distanced themselves from the social media activity fueling the controversy. Adeleke revealed that Anu’s aunt personally contacted him to clarify the situation.
“Anu’s aunt personally told me the family does not own Anu’s account. Kemi Olunloyo has been in full control all along, and they don’t know why she keeps dragging Davido,” he stated.
He further emphasized that the Adeleke family would not hesitate to accept the child if science had proven otherwise.
“If science had revealed that the little girl was my granddaughter, I would gladly accept her,” Adeleke said.
Addressing claims that the family was avoiding responsibility, the billionaire businessman dismissed such suggestions, pointing to his large family.
“I have 14 grandchildren, so what will adding one more take from me? Is it that I won’t be able to cater for her or what?” he asked.
While Adeleke stressed that the DNA reports remain confidential for security reasons, he maintained that the results were clear and final.
The renewed comments have sparked fresh reactions online, with many Nigerians calling for an end to the decade-old controversy, while others continue to debate the allegations surrounding the case.
