Nigerian music stars Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P of the defunct P-Square group, have finally put their long-running feud behind them.
The reconciliation comes nearly two years after the duo clashed publicly over the 2023 general elections, with politics, specifically support for Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, sparking a heated exchange on social media.
Entertainment Reporter recalls that the feud began when Seun Kuti described Peter Obi as an “opportunist.” The comment did not sit well with Peter Okoye, who fired back by questioning Seun’s relevance and success in the Nigerian music industry. What followed was a messy online back-and-forth that divided fans and dragged on for weeks.
However, it appears both artistes have chosen peace.
The two were recently spotted at a popular Lagos nightclub, where they were seen hugging, smiling, and exchanging words in what looked like a calm and friendly conversation.
In a video making the rounds online, Seun Kuti could be heard telling Mr P:
“We are artistes, we can’t be fighting over politicians.”
Peter Okoye agreed with the statement, nodding in approval as the two shook hands, signaling an end to the rift.
The moment has since drawn praise from fans who welcomed the maturity shown by both musicians, noting that music and unity should rise above political disagreements.
With the embrace, Seun Kuti and Mr P appear to have officially buried the hatchet, proving that even the loudest celebrity feuds can end quietly, with a handshake and a shared understanding.
