Anu Adeleke’s Mother Accuses Davido, Shares DMs

The mother of Anu Adeleke, the teenage girl who claims to be the daughter of Afrobeats star Davido, has broken her silence in an emotional late-night post, reigniting the long-running paternity controversy.

Ayo Labinjoh, Anu’s mother, spoke hours after her daughter publicly requested a fresh DNA test, saying the issue is no longer about money or attention but about her child’s identity and mental health.

Entertainment Reporter recalls that Anu had asked Davido to submit to another DNA test, citing years of bullying and emotional trauma over questions surrounding her paternity. In response, Davido denied being her father and said he had already done five DNA tests, all of which returned negative results. He also threatened legal action against Ayo, insisting the matter had been settled years ago.

But in a strongly worded Instagram statement, Ayo accused the singer of neglect, insults, and intimidation, while sharing what she described as private messages exchanged with him.

She wrote, “Good evening, we are heading to bed now. First things first, my name is Ayo Labinjoh. I’m NOT Davido’s baby mama or a bitch.”

Ayo said she has spent years shielding her daughter from public scrutiny after intense bullying in school.

“I am very protective of my daughter’s mental health after the level of bullying she went through for years. My daughter cried for days, fainted in school and went through psychotherapy,” she said.

Addressing Davido directly, she claimed the singer ignored her for years based on an assumption about her background.

“David Adeleke has largely ignored me for years because he thought he picked up a prostitute from GQ Club in Ibadan. I was a waitress and not picked up on the streets. I come from a good home,” she wrote.

Ayo further alleged irregularities in the earlier DNA processes, disputing claims that independent tests had been fairly conducted.

“Dr Deji Adeleke took us to a LAB not a hospital, where Anu’s blood was drawn in 2014, then discarded behind our backs, and a fake result was printed,” she claimed.

She also accused Davido of using harsh language while speaking directly to Anu.

“David chatted with my daughter tonight, threatening to lock me up, cursing Anu, and repeatedly bullying her,” she alleged, adding, “The language used was awful. My daughter did not beg to be here.”

Calling for international oversight, Ayo said she plans to involve U.S. authorities in the process.

“David is a US citizen. I will request that the US State Department contact the Embassy in Lagos or Abuja to help us supervise and witness a clean, independent DNA test,” she stated.

She concluded by stressing that the fight is not hers alone.

“I’m not fighting for my daughter. My daughter is fighting for her identity,” Ayo wrote.

The controversy has once again divided public opinion online. While some sympathize with Anu and her mother, others recall past statements from Davido’s camp, including comments by his former lawyer Bobo Ajudua, who previously said it was unfair to keep “feeding the public with lies” after DNA tests reportedly showed Davido was not the child’s father.
