Entrepreneur and social media personality Sophia Momodu has issued a firm warning to fans, urging them to stop referring to her as the wife of Nigerian music star Davido.
Sophia, who is Davido’s first baby mama and the mother of his daughter, Imade Adeleke, addressed the issue during a recent video broadcast that has since sparked conversations online.
According to her, despite having ended her relationship with the singer many years ago, and with Davido now married, some fans still insist on addressing her as his wife, a label she says she finds disrespectful.
Recounting a recent encounter, Sophia revealed how shocked she was when a content creator publicly referred to her as Davido’s wife.
“I once met a content creator who started hailing me as ‘Mama Imade, OBO’s wife’ when he saw me. I was shocked because I am not his wife,” she said.
Sophia stressed that while she has no issues with her past, she believes it is important for people to respect boundaries, personal choices, and existing marriages.
“Stop referring to me as Davido’s wife. Let’s respect people’s marriages and rules,” she stated.
She further explained that she has moved on from the relationship and urged fans to do the same, adding that everyone involved is now living their lives peacefully.
“If people have moved on, allow them to move on in peace. Everyone is happy and doing what they are supposed to do,” Sophia added.
The statement has since generated mixed reactions on social media, with some fans applauding her for speaking up, while others debated the long-standing public fascination with celebrity relationships.
Sophia Momodu has remained focused on her personal brand and business ventures in recent years, while also co-parenting her daughter with Davido away from public drama.
