Nigerian music star Kizz Daniel has once again come under heavy criticism after he reportedly failed to show up for his much-anticipated concert in France, leaving both fans and organizers furious.
The event, which was billed to hold from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., never took place as planned. According to multiple eyewitnesses, concertgoers began arriving as early as 4 p.m., but the singer was nowhere to be found hours later. Frustrated fans eventually stormed out, while others vented their anger on social media.
In viral videos making rounds online, chaos erupted as organizers and members of Kizz Daniel’s team were seen in a heated confrontation. The artist’s well-known bouncer was also captured exchanging words and shoving one of the event organizers.
Sources close to the organizers claim that over ₦140 million had been paid for the performance, a fee that now hangs in dispute following the no-show. The organizers alleged that they tried reaching Kizz Daniel for hours, but communication broke down just before showtime.
This latest controversy adds to a string of incidents that have put Kizz Daniel’s professionalism into question. In 2022, the “Buga” crooner was arrested in Tanzania after failing to appear for a show he was paid for. That same year, he arrived four hours late for a performance in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA, and reportedly performed for only 20 minutes.
Social media users have expressed mixed feelings, with many accusing the singer of arrogance and poor work ethic.
@dammy_lolaa wrote, “Aseju ni Kizz Daniel, Portable ti wa okay.” @amyjatau added, “Great talent with bad character.” @blazeragr8 commented, “Promoters should stop giving him bookings since it’s now a pattern.” @icebliss_official said, “Kizz is not business oriented.”
As the fallout continues, industry insiders warn that repeated cancellations and controversies could “seriously damage his international reputation.”
Neither Kizz Daniel nor his management team has issued an official statement as of press time.
