Osita Iheme’s brother, policeman killed by gunmen enforcing sit-at-home order

Gunmen enforcing the sit-at-home order in Imo State killed a policeman and Prince Iheme, the brother of actor Osita Iheme, also known as Paw Paw.

According to reports, on Friday at Ubommiri in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, gunmen ambushed the convoy of Akarachi Amadi, the APC candidate for the Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency.

Prince Iheme was instantly killed, but Martin Eke, the state commissioner for solid minerals, was attacked and macheted.

“Prince Iheme was riding in the same vehicle with the commissioner for solid minerals. Prince Iheme who is Pawpaw’s elder brother was killed on the spot. The commissioner who was sworn in two weeks ago was cut badly. He has just been rushed to a hospital. They were driving in a Ford SUV. I pray he makes it,” a source said.

Orji community was also attacked by the gunmen wearing black clothes in three vehicles, assaulting residents and passersby, including policemen.

An eyewitnesses told Punch that the gunmen met some policemen at the 7Up junction at Orji and shot one of them.

He said, “They just killed a policeman now. They opened fire on them and were shouting, ‘There is sit-at-home. We have asked you to go home. Stay indoors.’”
